Introduction
Department of Land Reform and Management (DOLRM) under the Ministry of
Land Reform and Management is the only Department of Government of Nepal
(GoN) which undertakes Land Reform, Land Administration and Management
functions through its nation wide district offices. This office is
popularly known as Mal Adda or Malpot Office which has passed a long
history in Nepalese land administration. DOLRM through its wings
performs different land reform and land administration activities with
regards to protection of land rights, collection of land related fees
and land registration in the country. Execution of these activities is
geared towards increment of productivity, poverty alleviation and
better environmental protection.
DOLRM is the arbitrator, safe guarder for the land ownership, tenancy rights, keeper of land ownership records and organ for collection of revenue (fees, service charges )and administrator for the land management.

Objectives
- Deliver better services to the general public on land ownership administration through its district offices.
- Safeguard land ownership records and update it by applying latest technology.
- Help increase productivity and alleviate poverty by protecting access to land among stakeholders.
- Optimize revenue from land taxes and fees.
